Melomanos is an app designed for Corfecali, an organization from Cali, Colombia that has the mission of producing La Feria de Cali. In 2016, Darío Bolívar brought to this corporation an idea about augmented reality, the intention was to design an app with augmented reality to have a new vision and experience during “La Feria”.

After a couple of meetings with Luz Adriana Latorre, Corfecali’s CEO, Melomanos appears. Mixing the interaction of three 3d characters this app shows different possibilities of playing, the first one is dancing, due the importance of salsa music in Cali; the second one is “maracas”, a very popular and easy instrument to join the sounds of this traditional rythm; The third one is the record player, because this device is part of every fan of salsa music, the melomanos.

The app was made with Unity and Vuforia, the graphis design and characters were made with Adobe CC and Maya. It works with android and IOS.

The Idea came from VISOR, a videogame for deaf children where Dario Bolivar worked as Concept Artist and also wrote a book mixed with augmented reality.
